Do this, not that during the Monsoon Season:

August 25th, 2020

While we love the light show and cooler temps that the Monsoons bring with them, there are a few things to keep in mind during this time.

Be sure that you are using surge protectors. Surge protectors help protect you against the damage that your air conditioning may undergo when there is lighting in the area.

Trim trees and the landscaping. If a limb comes off a tree and hits the house, it can cause damage to your home, your outdoor furnishings, your HVAC system, or even vehicles.

Do not open doors and windows during the storm. While the breeze and cooler temperatures make it tempting, remember that monsoons also bring humidity. Opening doors and windows invites the humidity in and makes your air conditioner work even harder when you do turn it back on.

Check it out after a storm. Take a look around your home after a monsoon. How does your roof look? How does your AC unit look? Be sure to clear any debris and take care of necessary repairs.
